Dayson was contracted by Public Works & Government Services Canada to Sandblast and Paint the Underside of the Lift Span and Splash Zone steel on the Burlington Canal Vertical Lift Bridge. The project included Blast Cleaning the existing structural steel to SSPC-SP5 and applying a three coat Inorganic-Zinc/Epoxy/Polyurethane Paint System. The project was divided in half down the center line of the bridge over two winter shutdowns each consisting of only 66 Calendar Days each. The project was completed on budget and ahead of schedule during both phases. All work was performed within a full environmental enclosure complete with a negative pressure system. Strict Lead Abatement Environmental and biological monitoring procedures were enforced and adhered to. Project Completed March 2011.
